Prometheus Publishing, LLC’s Privacy Policy

BartsBooks, as a tributary flowing from Prometheus Publishing, LLC, values you as a customer, contributor and person of business.  All due and diligent care is taken to protect the personal identity and all financial information, as well as any codes which might reveal these facts.

Data Security:

We have in place physical, electronic and managerial procedures to protect the information we collect online. However, as effective as these measures are, no security system is impenetrable. We cannot guarantee the security of our database, nor can we guarantee that the information you supply will not be intercepted while being transmitted to us over the internet.

BartsBooks Buyers:

We at BartsBooks are not in the business of selling web information or lists.  We provide neither sellers nor government entities any records of books and items individuals have purchased from BartsBooks.com.  YOUR FREEDOM TO READ, AND READ PRIVATELY, IS A VITAL RIGHT IN WHICH WE WHOLE HEARTEDLY BELIEVE - AND FOR WHICH WE WILL FIGHT.

Except as stated in this privacy policy or at the time of collection, a user's personally identifiable information will not be transferred to a party outside Prometheus Publishing, LLC, its divisions or affiliates, or its service vendors unless notice is given at the time of collection or prior to transfer.

BartsBooks Contributors:

By Contributor is meant any individual who adds accepted content of any length to a chapter of a BartsBook.  Readers and site visitors may read all such comments initially on the BartsBooks.com website while the book is “under construction” and then later in the published volume.  Since most contributors to individual BartsBooks seek credit for their writings, BartsBooks automatically provides space for the name of each contributing author’s name and contact information.  Contributors seeking to remain anonymous may do so by simply marking their names “Anon.” or using an acceptable nick name.

BartsBooks does not reveal the names or contact information of anyone preferring to remain anonymous.  Every contributor may edit or delete any or all of his contributions at any time.  BartsBooks reserves the right to edit/delete contributions which it deems inappropriate, at its discretion.

BartsBooks Personal Pages

Every contributor to BartsBooks is offered the opportunity of having his own Personal Page.  On this we automatically post a complete anthology of that individual’s contributions to all BartsBooks.  The Page Owner (that individual whose contributions etc. are posted thereon), may at his discretion also add the name of his business, his position, contact information, a brief biography and photo.

All such content on all Personal Pages is available to all viewers of www.BartsBooks.com.  The Page Owner may share the page contents with anyone he chooses.  However, BartsBooks will not share any Personal Page information with anyone without express permission from the Page Owner.

The Page Owner may edit or delete any part of his personal page.  Also, designated staff members of Prometheus Publishing, LLC reserve the right to edit/delete Personal Page information which it deems inappropriate, at its discretion.

NO CONTRIBUTOR IS REQUIRED TO HAVE A BARTSBOOKS PERSONAL PAGE.  Contributors may remain anonymous and opt for no Personal Page, or initiate it later on.

Subscriptions and Promotions

From time to time BartsBooks offers various promotional materials and ongoing information to which readers may subscribe.

If you have told us that you would be interested in receiving certain e-mail information and newsletters from us, we will send you those e-mail subscriptions. Please note that regardless of those subscription preferences, we may contact you by e-mail as described elsewhere in this privacy policy (e.g., to notify you about changes or additions to our Service, such as new features). However, if you no longer wish to receive any of the foregoing, you may change your preferences and opt out of our system.

What information we collect:

Our primary goal in collecting personally identifiable information is to provide you, the user, with a customized experience on our network of sites. This includes personalized Personal Page connected to various social media, interactive communications, online shopping and many other types of services, most of which are completely free to you.

Additionally, we may also use the information provided by you to: 1) contact you with legal notices, 2) to advise you of any changes or additions to our Service or terms and conditions, and 3) account status (including confirmation of sales and subscriptions).

Web servers also collect:

Web servers serving BartsBooks.com automatically collect certain non-personally identifiable information, such as which pages each user visits and the domain name of visitors. This information is used for various purposes including internal review, to tailor information to individual visitors and other users, for traffic audits, and to enhance our website presentation. We may also provide this information (as well as information from third-party market researchers) about our users on an aggregated, anonymous basis to our advertisers.

We may provide links (including inline links) to other websites.  These links and co-branded offers are intended as a reader service and a convenient way to purchase those products or services.  We do not control the privacy policies of other sites or businesses to which we provide hyperlinks or access. Please visit the sites of these businesses to review their privacy policies.

Prometheus Publishing, LLC reserves the right to correct any errors or omissions in its website and service. Although we intend to take reasonable steps to prevent the introduction of viruses, worms, "Trojan horses" or other destructive materials, we do not guarantee or warrant that this website or materials that may be downloaded from our service do not contain such destructive features. We are not liable for any damages or harm attributable to such features. If you rely on this service and any materials available through this service, you do so solely at your own risk.

Technology on the Internet is developing at a rapid pace, and we need to maintain our flexibility in the online arena. If we need to change our policy in the future, we will post these changes as soon as they go into effect.
